Local Youth Recognized for Outstanding Leadership and Achievement

In support of National Youth Week, the East Brunswick Elks recognized area teenagers for their accomplishments in their local communities.

In an event hosted by Youth Activities Committee chairpersons Anthony Buccigrossi and Maranda DiSanto at East Brunswick Elks Lodge 2370, the Elks presented nearly fifty certificates to attending youth. Contributions to the community recognized included volunteering with special needs programs, senior citizens and animal shelters as well as Eagle Scout, Girl Scout Silver Award and Gold Award recipients.

Town Councilman Ed Luster was on hand to read a proclamation by Mayor David Stahl, which declared May 12, 2010 “Youth Day” in East Brunswick. Central District Youth Activities Committee Chairman Gary Dengelegi, PDD and Alice Leonhardt, Exalted Ruler as well as Karen Theer, East Brunswick Township, Recreation Supervisor were also present to acknowledge each youth with a custom certificate and holder.
