Closing Weekend of Jewtopia at Playhouse 22

Playhouse 22, East Brunswick’s community theatre troupe, completes its first season at the new East Brunswick Community Arts Center with a hilarious production of “Jewtopia” this weekend. Directed by Mark Kalet, the show stars Aaron Ratzan as Adam and Derek Mazukiewicz as Chris. Additional cast members include Lincoln Richman, Mike Levine, Leslie Hochman, Jill Swissa and Jessica Leonard. Please note that the show is for mature audiences only.

Jewtopia, the longest running new comedy in both Off-Broadway and Los Angeles history, tells the story of two 30 year old single men: one, a gentile, wants to marry a Jewish girl so he will never have to make another decision. The other, a Jew, wants to marry a Jewish girl to please his family, but cannot get a date to save his life.

“You don’t have to be Jewish to understand the jokes in this show,” said Kalet, “Anyone who has faced the challenges of falling in love will see the humor in this mature adult comedy.”

The East Brunswick Community Center is located at 721 Cranbury Road in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Ths show will be performed on Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and a Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m.
