EAST BRUNSWICK -- A 19-year-old East Brunswick man who works in the youth section of the East Brunswick Public Library has been charged with possession of child pornography.
Joseph R. Buckelew III, arrested Tuesday, is accused of adopting an internet persona of a 19-year-old woman, chatting on-line with boys 14 to 16 and convincing them to send him nude pictures of themselves, federal authorities said.
He downloaded and posted the images through peer-to-peer file sharing software from March into August, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman.
Buckelew is scheduled to appear before United States Magistrate Judge Madeline Cox Arleo in Newark this afternoon for an initial appearance.
The charge of possessing child pornography can bring a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, although sentencing guidelines call for much less time.
Buckelew's attorney, Michele Labrada, could not immediately be reached.
