Dedication of Level Playing Field for Kids with Special Needs
On Saturday, Oct. 16 @ 1:00 p.m. Mayor David Stahl will dedicate the newest addition to the Heavenly Farms sports complex on Dunhams Corner Rd. in East Brunswick -- a field designed for the special needs children in our community. The level playing field provides a smooth artificial turf surface navigable for players in wheelchairs, on crutches, or with vision or mobility problems. East Brunswick Baseball League’s “Buddy Ball Division” welcomes children with physical and mental challenges to play T-ball or coach pitch with a "buddy" to help if needed.
To volunteer or get more information on the Buddy Ball program, contact Tom Cregge, Director of the East Brunswick Baseball League, at bratt0499@msn.com or visit http://www.ebbl.org.
Funding for the acquisition of Heavenly Farms was made possible through a cooperative effort between the State of New Jersey, the County of Middlesex, and the Township of East Brunswick. Improvements to the park are accomplished through a cooperative effort between the state, county, and local governments and the private sector.
All are welcome to join us at this event and oh...why not stay for the game that immediately follows the dedication and see some great baseball!
