East Brunswick man pleads guilty to attempted endangerment
MAYS LANDING – A Middlesex County man entered a guilty plea yesterday to third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child.
Victor A. Attia, 57, of 42 Wilmot Street in East Brunswick was arrested on Aug. 20, 2010, as a result of engaging in sexually explicit conversations during the month of July, with an undercover officer whom the defendant thought was a 14-year-old girl, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel announced.
Attia faces up to five years in prison when he is sentenced on a date to be set at a later time. Attia will be subject to parole supervision for life and must register as a Megan’s Law offender. An Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted him on Oct. 19, 2010, according to Assistant Prosecutor Janet Gravitz, who represented the state.
Superior Court Judge Max Baker presided over the plea hearing.
